SISTERS

We had many different jobs. We used to be vendors. We carried the baskets on a bamboo pole to balance them. I sold snails, clams and many other things. I carried them on my shoulders, walked and sold them in and around Hoi An. Now I am old, I stay at home.”

“We love each other. My house is here and her house is over there (opposite to the elder sister’s house). We visit each other every day. We chat at 4:00 or 5:00 am.”

“We get up at 4:00 am. I pray for about 1 hour. Then I run to my sister’s house to chat with her for fun. Then I go home to clean up the house. I don’t work anymore. I stay at home, play with my children and grandchildren.”
